On Monday, August 19, 2024, Mr. Yodyong Hanratnakul, Chairman of GTI Corporation Co., Ltd. (the ceremony's presider), Mr. Sompon Yotsaviriya, Board Member and CEO, along with the company's executives, shareholders, and employees, participated in the 2024 CSR mangrove planting activity under the project "GTI Planting with Heart, Caring for the Forest." They were joined by the executives and staff of the Khlong Tamru Subdistrict Administrative Organization. More than 0 participants took part in planting 400 mangrove seedlings, covering an area of half a rai (with a density of 1.5 x 1.5 meters) at the Khlong Tamru Mangrove Conservation Learning Center, Ban Na Kluea, Moo 1, Khlong Tamru Subdistrict, Mueang Chonburi District, Chonburi Province.
This initiative aims to offset the negative impacts of paper use in the office by enhancing natural resources and increasing green spaces to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, a major greenhouse gas contributing to global warming. After 15 years, the mangroves are expected to absorb 24.30 tons of CO2 per rai per year, equivalent to the paper usage of the organization in 34 years.
Mr. Samit Thara, President of the Khlong Tamru Subdistrict Administrative Organization, along with Mr. Chatchai Saensuk, Deputy Secretary of the Khlong Tamru Subdistrict Administrative Organization, who is acting as the Secretary, honored us by delivering a lecture on the importance of mangrove forests and demonstrating the process of planting mangrove seedlings.
In honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on her 92nd birthday on August 12, 2024, GTI Corporation Co., Ltd. donated 5,000 baht to the Na Kluea Village Fund to support community development and problem-solving efforts. Mr. Somit Thara received the donation.
